Fall Decor for your Pella Doors

DIY Fall Design Tips for Your Curb Appeal

Published on

With the arrival of fall, it’s the perfect time to set up the outside of your home with fall decorations. Sprucing up your replacement windows and doors with some unique decorations can be a great way to begin the season and get excited for scarves, sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes.

Improve your curb appeal this season with these fun décor projects that are easy, unique and on-trend:

Project #1: Corn Husk Garland
This decoration will add fantastic curb appeal to your home’s windows or doors, depending on where you prefer to hang the garland. Either way, all this project takes is a few easy steps: cut rope to your desired length (outlining your windows or door) with a few added inches to get a droopy effect, and stick corn husks to the rope with a hot glue gun. Hang your new garland to accentuate your home access points!

Project #2: Door Wreath
Incorporate all the warm colors of fall into a DIY wreath to hang on your door. The supply list includes a wooden stick wreath, burlap, artificial fall foliage, scissors and a glue gun. Here is the process: Cut the burlap into four 4x4-inch squares. Then, fold and glue the pieces of burlap around the wreath while gluing foliage alongside the burlap sections.

Project #3: Welcome Sign
Add warmth to your home this fall with a blackboard “Welcome” or “Happy Fall” sign outside of your door. Remind passersby what the season is really about and draw interest toward your festive fall entryway.

While preparing for fall with great DIY outdoor décor projects is an easy way to get into the season spirit, remember to prepare your replacement doors and windows for the cooler weather, too. They may look fantastic, but if your doors and windows are weathered or unprepared for the upcoming winter weather, they could let in cold drafts and leave you feeling cool in the upcoming months.
